The use of game techniques (mechanics and dynamics), with the aim of fostering the motivation, effort, among other aspects, is called gamification. This work presents the procedure followed to develop an e-learning system aimed to evaluate the impact of gamification in an educational environment. To fulfill this objective, in the system we have included different game techniques with that allow verifying how they affect the motivation of each one of the students. Given that each person has a different personality, it is possible that the way of interacting with the system varies from one person to other. In addition, certain elements of games that are attractive and motivate a student, may be unattractive and non-engaging for others. For this reason, we should measure the motivation of each one of the students individually. The e-learning system developed is a website that not only will allow students to see their progress, profile, etc., but also will allow researchers to analyze the patterns of behavior of each one of the students, in order to find a relationship between their profile type (type of player) and their way of surfing the web page. One of the main objectives of this work is the development of a web application whose architecture is as light as possible and that has the capacity to adapt to any subject and course in which it is implanted. In addition, it has been designed with the aim that it can be used by any type of person (without the need for high computer skills). On the one hand, to make the architecture light, we will use some tools developed by Google (Google Forms, Google Spreadsheets and Google App Script). Thanks to this, all the data with which the web application works, will be hosted in the servers that Google has dedicated to such tools. In this way, it is possible to make the architecture of the web application as simple and light as possible. On the other hand, the web application must be able to be adapted to any subject, regardless of the field of study. To meet this goal and like the previous case, the Google tools mentioned above will be used. In this case, the tool which will be used is Google Forms. This tool allows teachers to create test exercises that can later be included in the web application with minor modifications. In this way, it is possible for any teacher to create their own exercises (related to the subject they teach), to include them in the web application and, from that moment, be available to all students. http://hdl.handle.net/10486/681128
